Brush Creek Mill invites you to attend our yearly events.  We are planning ahead for additional programs of interest to our area.  We continue to be a welcome home for many local programs of interest to the community and hope you will consider joining in those of interest to you.


November 18, Fall Fiesta 7pm at Hillman High School:  Dinner and Music Fundraiser for Support of Brush Creek Mill.  This is our big fundraiser of the year.  Our volunteer performers this year are the “Roy and the Blues Makers” giving us “Beatles, Side Two, All the music you didn’t hear the first time.”  We’ve changed the venue to improve the acoustics.  We’ll be changing the menu to a Mexican buffet. Tickets $10 in advance or $12 at the door.  Save the date.  Tickets available at Brush Creek Mill, or by calling 989-742-2527.

Any group interested in bringing in a tree for our Festival of Trees, and the People’s Choice Award may do so during open hours beginning November 9th.

November 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018:  Northeastern Michigan Student Writing Contest.  Brush Creek Writers is pleased to announce our 5th annual Student Writing Contest for students in grades 7-12 residing in northeastern Michigan.  Note this is a change from past contests which were limited to three counties.  The rules have changed a bit, and it is more than ever necessary for students to follow them closely, especially the requirements for the cover page, as this is our only way to contact winners.  Contest rules will be mailed to all schools and libraries by November 1st with the hope that they will post them.  Students attending any sort of school from public to private, religious, alternative, charter, digital or home school are eligible to enter as long as they are Michigan students living in northeastern Michigan.  Four $100 prizes and one $200 grand prize will be awarded for the best stories.  Award winning writers must attend the award ceremony on June 17th, and will be notified by Allen James Grund of their winning status.  Please contact Kathy Stevens at 989-742-3469 with any questions.  A Copy of the Rules is available by CLICKING HERE.

Mini Grant Applications for Child-Based activities in Montmorency County are now available at Brush Creek Mill. The Mill is awarding grants of $200, $300, and $500 for non-profit groups providing activites that benefit children in our county. Applications are due by December 31, 2017.
